The Ethos IIIA EX02 is a NIJ Standard-0101.06 Level IIIA hybrid design featuring SATTI Gold Shield® and Dyneema®. It is special threat tested against Winchester 9mm 127 gr. SXT +P+ RA9TA, Federal 9mm 100 gr. Frangible, Speer .357 SIG 125 gr. GDHP, Winchester .40 S&W 165 gr. SXT, Romanian 7.62x25mm 85 gr. Tokarev, FN 5.7x28mm 40 gr. Blue Tip SS197SR, FN 5.7x28mm 27 gr. JHP SS195 LF and Fragmentation Testing – 2 gr. RCC, 4 gr. RCC, 16 gr. RCC, 64 gr. RCC, 17 gr. FSP.
NIJ test protocol certifies models to specific performance standards, while special threat testing uses the same facilities and conditions to test popular rounds specific to regional threats. The Ethos IIIA EX02 meets/exceeds requirements of DEA Body Armor Test Protocol and FBI Body Armor Test Protocol. Available in male, structured female and non-structured female designs.
